I‘ve been blogging for about 33 weeks and this is my 31st post. Of those, I’d say roughly 12 are meals1 and 19 are snacks. So I’m clocking in a bit below one post per week, 1.5 meals per month.
If you feel that’s too few, or if you have any other comments or recommendations let me know. I’ll see what I can do. Without satisfied readers I’m just a tree falling in the woods 0.94 times a week.
In the meantime, if you’re craving more, you’re welcome to subscribe to the RSS feed of my shared bookmarks.2,3 There you can track me goofing off — er, conducting vital industry research. My bookmarking pace is closer to daily and I try to annotate each site with a revealing sentence or two.
Here’s an example of what the feed looks like in bloglines.4

3Christmas asks why I use My Web instead of del.icio.us. No good reason except that I started using My Web first and I’m happy with it. By now I’ve invested enough effort in My Web that I don’t care to switch. Someday My Web, del.icio.us, and Yahoo! Bookmarks should play nice. UPDATE 2009/02/04: I’ve now switched to delicious. | |

Hi Monsieur Pennock,
I am a feed subscriber of your great blog via Google Reader. (Oops, yeah, I use Google, sometimes. 🙂 )
I don’t give the first fig whether you blog once a week or once a month. Makes no difference for a feed subscriber like me. Would annoy me if I checked your blog each day on the Web for update.
Your blog is of high quality, and I am calling on God and all the Saints of the Christianity for you to continue blogging. Hope you won’t be another Lance Fortnow.
My point on Delicious vs. MyYahooWeb is that you linked to a Yahoo! memo saying having double products is a mistake. Well, apply this to you and transfer everything to Delicious. It’s not that hard to do, I suppose.
I forgot to say that having 44 feed subscribers at BlogLines is quite a feat, since you blog only once a month. Shows you have a readership of techies and advanced users, probably PhDs. 🙂
Whoa!! I hope you keep on blogging. I subscribe to your feed and read it on the Yahoo Web mail client 🙂 In fact, your blog is part of the inspiration for me to start my own blog last week: Data Strategy – http://datastrategy.wordpress.com/
Thanks Chris and Chuck for the kind words. Yes, I definitely plan to keep blogging for some time whatever the pace. Chuck, glad to play at least some role in inspiring your blog. Looks very interesting.
